Lauren Averitt

Lauren Averitt, 29, of Charleston, SC, died Saturday, September 25, 2004, at the university of North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. She was a graduate of Middleton High School and also attended Coastal Carolina College and Trident Technical College, SC.

Lauren was born February 14, 1975, in Wilmington NC. She was the daughter of Adrienne Haydu Daniel of Mt. Pleasant and the late Lex Averitt. She was predeceased by her grandparents , Betty Wright Averitt, Formally of Tabor City, NC, and Wanda Haydu and George Haydu, formally of Wilmington, NC.

Besides her mother, Lauren is survived and will be deeply missed by her brother, Jesse Filion and stepfather Michael R. Daniel of Mt. Pleasant, SC , aunts Alice Averitt and Cheryl Pritchard of Hickory, NC, uncle Charles Poppe of Carolina Beach , NC, Uncle Kenny Haydu and aunt Darla Haydu of Southport, NC and cousins Sarah Blair and Steve Haydu.

Lauren will always be remembered for her sense of humor and her tenacious fight for life. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at 7.00PM, October 28th, 2004, at The Church of God of Prophecy, 7422 Warm Ave., North Charleston , SC.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USCA fund, P. O. Box 10258, Hickory, NC 28602. The fund was established for the benefit of Kayla Chavis, the surviving daughter of Ray Chavis, Laurens dear friend who also succumbed to cystic fibrosis.
